What exactly is the engine doing when you spray the ether? Does it run for a bit and then quit or does it just not work at all? You could have a bad valve(s) or no compression on one or two of the cylinders. If that the case get a compression test done on the engine to make sure that all the valves (intake and exhaust) are seating correctly and that you have full compression on each cylinder. Also get a scan on your ECM/ECU, the computer could be messed up and not telling the injectors to fire at the correct time. Check your spark plugs, wires and coils before you run the scan because having bad wires or a pinch in one or two of the wires could cause the plugs to miss fire.
