I was just wondering if any of you guys have a problem with this so far. I looked under my truck last week after cleaning it and was shocked to notice how much surface rust there was. I''ve had the truck for 3 1/2 years and have had in some salt during the winters but nothing excessive. Will the warranty cover this *or* does it pretty much have to be rusted through?

It should not cost you anything to have a service writer at a Toyota Dealership just to take a quick look under your truck to determine if the rust problem you have will be covered under warrenty *or* not. If they try to suck you in to pay for some kind of charge to inspect your rig just drive off. But ask for a free estimate first. Then if they try to talk you into some kind of other deal. Just tell them never mind. 2006 sounds like it is too new to be having any rust issues.

Oil it! Get a garden sprayer an use your used motor oil or get some bar an chain oil an soak it all down inside an out. Your frame will look new in 20 years.
